Meet Kunndry, a Compassionate and Experienced Support Worker
Kunndry is a compassionate, patient and respectful Support Worker with a professional background in psychology and paramedicine, alongside approximately two years of disability support experience.
She has supported people with a range of needs, including ADHD, intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, borderline personality disorder and Down syndrome. Her combination of psychological knowledge, healthcare experience and practical support skills allows her to provide thoughtful, individualised support that promotes dignity, choice, independence and wellbeing.
She takes the time to understand each participant’s needs, preferences, communication style and goals, adapting her approach so people feel heard, respected and supported.
Her bilingual skills may be particularly valuable when supporting participants and families from Spanish-speaking backgrounds.
Her psychology background includes experience providing support focused on attention and concentration, behaviour modification and communication, while maintaining privacy, dignity and respectful engagement with individuals and families.
Through her paramedicine experience, she developed practical skills in patient assessment, monitoring vital signs, first aid, safe transfers, mobility assistance and daily patient care, strengthening her understanding of health, safety and wellbeing.
Her disability support experience includes assisting participants with daily living, community access, psychosocial support, communication and building greater independence through respectful and individualised assistance.
She also brings experience from food preparation and hospitality, strengthening her practical skills in meal preparation, hygiene, teamwork and working effectively in multicultural environments.
Kunndry is compassionate, attentive, empathetic and adaptable. She values building trust and enjoys providing both practical assistance and positive companionship. Her background in psychology and paramedicine gives her a strong understanding of communication, behaviour, wellbeing and safe support, while her calm and respectful approach helps participants feel comfortable and listened to.
Kunndry enjoys painting, swimming, cooking and preparing desserts, music, volleyball, pickleball, walking and spending time outdoors. These interests provide natural opportunities to connect with participants who enjoy creative activities, cooking, exercise and outdoor experiences.
Kunndry is comfortable working in homes with pets and assistance animals and has two dogs of her own. She understands the important role animals can play in companionship, emotional wellbeing, routine and connection and is comfortable assisting with general pet-related routines where appropriate.
